Commonly Asked Questions

How do I get my child into the business?
Child modeling can be very competitive and success requires a commitment from the child and the parents to be successful. Professionalism, a good look and a bit of luck certainly helps. Please read the information provided below. If you feel your child has potential, fill out the application form along with a current photo for Little Sprouts Talent to review. Also, if your child is older include any school or community plays he or she may have performed in. You may also mail a photo and be sure to include your child's info and a contact number. If we are unable to work with your child at this time, don’t get discouraged, this can mean we may have enough kids with your child’s look or age set. We wish we could work with everyone, but that’s just not possible.

How do I know if my child has a right look?
That’s a hard one. There really is not a certain “look” that’s right or wrong. For modeling an attractive child is certainly an asset. However, the demand for different looks is endless. We have worked with all types of smiles over the years

How many jobs can a child model expect and how much money can they make?
There are no promises that a child will work or get a booking. We don’t want to discourage you but, we do want to be straightforward with every new parent. Your expectation should be not to get rich, but to have a good time, give your child a chance to gain some confidence being around others and maybe land a booking or two.

Catalogues pay $150 per hour and for larger print jobs the rate goes as high as $250 per hour, plus a usage fee if the image is used for a billboard, poster or packaging. Television commercials, the majority are union. depending on whether or not it is a regional or national commercial, the rates can be anywhere from $1000-$20,000 depending on how long the commercial airs for. There are different pay scales for runway and music videos. The above are base pay scales and each job may be different depending on a client’s needs and budget.

How does Little Sprouts Talent obtain work or auditions for your children?
Agents get what are called “Break Downs” everyday which are a list of jobs that are being cast for in a specific area or city. These are only available to industry professionals including Agents and Managers and are not available to the public. We then submit or suggest our models that we feel match that specific job or clients needs. The client or Casting Director will then contact us in regards to the model or models they are interested in hiring. We contact you with the call back or job information.

Do you charge a fee to be signed with you?
Little Sprouts Talent does not charge for model representation. We make a 20% commission on work models perform through our Company.

What other costs can I expect?
This depends on the child’s age and experience. Photos are you child’s calling card and are how agencies submit and market for castings. We will do a photo shoot at no cost or you can use your own photographer. Babies do not need professional photos and good home pictures will work fine.

While there are no fees to be represented by our agency, models are required to cover their own expenses such as printing for composite cards, resumes and any other costs. Like any other business it will take a small investment on your part and it’s important to have the right tools in order to be successful.

Infants up to 3 years don’t need professional photos. If accepted into the agency, you can use your own photos that we approve or you can come by the office and we can take some shots at no cost. We will then create and add you to our model catalog, which is available to our clients exclusively for castings. They can view and print the models for jobs we submit for. There is a onetime maintenance charge of $150 for this service. Kids in this age set change every day and it is necessary to constantly update and change the photos. This age requires quite a bit more work for us than older children. The model catalog is not required. You can get Composite or Zed Cards printed by a company of your choice for us to use.

4 to 7 years It is advisable that you do get professional photos done. You can use your own photographer or you can come by the office and we can take some shots at no cost. You will then get Composite or Zed Cards printed by a company of your choice for us to use.
